Hi friends! I’ve been very much into knitting lately and enjoying the time it takes to work through a project. Earlier this year, I started the Aise by Espace Tricot, a free pattern that can be found on Ravelry. I first saw a sample of this project while on a trip up to one of the local yarn shops in the Houston area called The Modern Skein. They are located in the quaint area of Montgomery, TX and always have a rotating selection of yarn to take a look at.
When I saw the sample of the Aise, I knew I needed this as my next knitting project! It has a lot of stockinette rows, which is perfect for nights with a Netflix binge. I also like that it is basically a scarf, but it’s oversized in width. It’s kind of inbetween a shawl and a scarf (is there an official term for this? Sharf?) I am making this with 3 skeins of fingering weight yarn and size US 6 needles. I picked up this lovely colorway from Savvy Skeins that reminds me of Van Gogh’s Starry Night.
Here’s a sneak peek photo from my Instagram– I’m on the final 50 rows! Should I add tassels or leave it as the original pattern suggests?
Hope you all are doing well and have been working on fantastic, yarny things! I look forward to sharing the finished project later in August. I’m really looking forward to pairing this with jeans this fall.

P.S. This year I have taken a step back from pattern writing a bit, and have been spending time just enjoying the moment and working on things that give me joy. I’ll be continuing this “on my needles” series to share and inspire in between original pattern creations!
