Four Leaf Clover Dishcloth #2! A Free Crochet Pattern

Four Leaf Clover Dishcloth #2! A Free Crochet Pattern

There is so much to be excited about for the month of March- we see a bit of spring, the sun is out longer, and it’s National Crochet Month! What better way to start the month of March than with another free crochet pattern?

Last weekend I posted the four leaf clover dishcloth pattern, and it seemed like everyone loved it! If you follow my Instagram, there have been some sneak peeks at this pattern being developed over the last few days. I enjoy making graphs for crochet patterns. I could not resist making another- the outline of a giant four leaf clover looks simple, yet elegant, and complements the other four leaf clover pattern well. This post includes a written pattern and a graph. I can’t wait to see all the projects completed with this pattern!

Let’s Get Started!

  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Materials:
    • 4.5 mm crochet hook
    • Yarn needle/ darning needle
    • Lily Sugar n’ Cream- white
    • Lily Sugar n’ Cream- hot green
  • Stitches used: chain, single crochet
  • Other Techniques: color changing
    • I have not created a tutorial for color changing, so I recommend this tutorial if you need help. Let me know if you have questions!
  • Abbreviations:
    • ch- chain
    • sc- single crochet
    • st- stitch
  • Approximate size of finished dishcloth: 9″ x 9”

Tips Before Starting: No one likes to weave in a million pesky yarn ends from color changes! For this pattern, carry the yarn through instead of cutting after every row.

Finish off, weave in the ends.

Making the Edge

Since a dishcloth can tend to be used pretty heavily, I went with a basic single crochet edging. With white, sc around the square twice, making 3 sc in the corners to have a nice squared finish.

That’s all there is to it! I hope you loved the pattern.

Hi Debbie! Glad it was mostly easy to understand. I am left handed so I typically start at the top left of a pattern. I didn’t even think about the normal way… I will be more clear on starting points in the future! Thanks for the feedback.
