Keep organization fun with baskets that have a personal touch! I whipped up this little beauty during a Harry Potter Marathon. It took approximately 1.5 Harry Potter Movies to make this, so this easy crochet basket should take about 3 hours. If you aren’t distracted by a movie, this probably will go a lot faster!
Final dimensions: 9 inches in diameter, 6 inches tall.
Supplies:
- Red Heart Super Saver Economy Yarn, Spring Green
- Red Heart Super Saver Jumbo Yarn, Paddy Green
- 6mm Crochet Hook
- Darning needle (I prefer a metal needle for weaving in ends, but a plastic one should be fine with this yarn)
When you buy supplies from Amazon with the links above, I receive a small commission, which helps me keep this site running. Thanks in advance for all those that help!

- Ch 1, turn. In the front loops of the sts, hdc around.Sl st to join (78sts)
- (The goal here is to have a clean line around the base of the basket to define where the wall is and the base. Right handed people may need to do the back loops. The front and back of the base should look the same since it isn’t done in the round, but if you prefer one side over the other, make sure that the loop that is not crocheted in is on the outside of the basket).
- *Ch 1, turn. Hdc around. Sl st to join (78 sts). Repeat this row 8 times (a total of 9 rows of hdc)Â
- Ch 1, turn. Hdc in next 14 sts. Ch 9. Sk 8 sts, hdc in next st. Hdc in next 35 sts. Ch 9. Sk 8 sts, hdc in next st. Hdc to end of row, sl st to join.
- Ch 1, turn. Hdc around. In the chain spaces, hdc 9 times around the chain sts (don’t go into a loop). Sl st to join
